Ariel Winter, born Ariel Winter Workman (Janurary 28, 1998) in Los Angeles California is an American actress, singer, and voice actor. Ariel Winter began her career acting as a performer as a child and was featured in an Cool Whip advertisement when she was just 6 years old. The actress landed her first TV performance at the age of seven on an episode of the CBS show Listen Up!. Monk Bones followed, as did ER. The year 2007 saw her debut in the character of Gretchen on The Disney Original Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. In 2007, she appeared in her debut live-action role as Alex Dunphy, on the well-known television series Modern Family. Along with the other members of Modern Family's Modern Family cast have won the Screen Actors Guild Award for the Best Performance by an Ensemble in the field of Comedy Series four times. Ariel has continued to voice characters from films like ParaNorman Cloudy, With A Chance Of Meatballs & Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel is a purple belt in Taekwondo. Ariel is the younger sister of actors Shanelle Workman, and Jimmy Workman. She is a singer and is part of the band WickedSweet. Additionally, she works in environmental organizations to promote a more eco-friendly lifestyle. In 2012 her older sister applied for guardianship for her, alleging that she was physically and psychologically abused from her family members.
